About

I am a  social and behavioral research scientist, with extensive experience in both qualitative and quantitative methods. I specialize in Study Design, In-Depth & Cognitive Interviewing, Survey/Instrument Development and Evaluation, Focus Groups, and Field Work/Participant Observation.

As our research questions become more complex, a triangulated approach that considers context and culture can help us produce the most robust and applicable contributions. For this reason, I am particularly interested in collaborating on projects that value a mixed-methods approach, bringing qualitative and quantitative analyses together to nuance our understanding of groups, individuals, and behaviors.

My areas of substantive expertise include Health & Well Being, Decision-Making, Social Psychology, Family, Children & Youth, Culture, and Communities. My research has broadly focused on expanding our understanding of how and why individuals make different choices for their family's health. With this knowledge, program creators, policymakers, and businesses can better support differently situated families.

I hold a Ph.D. in sociology from the University of Colorado Boulder where I received focused training in family health and mixed research methodologies in the Health & Society Program at the Institute of Behavioral Science.
